ABOUT ME

Have you ever wondered about your family’s history?
You are not alone! Like most people, you may have thought about who your ancestors were—their names, when and where they lived, and what their lives were like. You may have even heard a mysterious story about some of your ancestors and wondered what really happened all those years ago.

Even though you’re so curious, it’s hard to find the time or know where to start.
I’m Kerri Tannenbaum, a professional genealogist and researcher who works with people looking to learn more about their family history.  Like a detective, I investigate clues, connect the dots and aim to solve a family mystery by providing new discoveries that bring ancestors’ stories to life.

Your ancestors have a story they want to tell you.
Using my expertise for genealogy, I can get your family’s story told so that you may pass it on to future generations.

While there are more tools than ever before to do some digging into the family archives, it’s not that easy. Genealogical research can be complicated, not to mention time-consuming.

As a graduate of the prestigious Boston University Certificate Program in Genealogical Research and the ProGen Study Group, I can do the deep detective work that can help get around those dead ends and find those elusive characters that your family members have talked about for years.

Researching, investigating, analyzing and putting together the pieces of your family’s story is my expertise.
As a professional genealogist, I stay very current in my field by attending conferences, participating in professional associations and consuming the latest in genealogy resources.

Like you, I was always curious about my roots.
As a kid, I was intrigued by the family tree compiled by our family historian Uncle Frank. His treks to upstate New York and travels to Ireland would always uncover another clue. This inspired me to research other parts of my family.

I had many starts and stops through the years given personal and professional responsibilities. (I am sure you can relate!) Yet I often thought, I’ll get back to my family history research one day.

I decided to dive into my passion for genealogy.
After recovering from a serious illness, I realized I needed to focus on things that truly inspired me. Before long, I made some fascinating discoveries, which got me even more excited…and hooked!

Suddenly, I was spending my free time doing ancestry research. My kids would say I was “obsessed” but I would reframe it that I was “passionate!” Now they think it’s kind of cool too!

I’ve turned that passion into a career.
After 25 years in corporate America, my story turned a page.  Today, I put my time and effort into something that truly excites me—genealogy.

Your family has a story, too.

“What an "eye opener"...my family history was quite a surprise in so many ways. The information that Kerri was able to get was much more than I had anticipated and there were so many details that were new to me and my family. I am so grateful, Kerri!!!!”—Suzette B., Naples, FL
